Water coolers not only provide cool water to drink, but also facilitates people to gather and converse around it. Water coolers are also very famous in homes. Although water cooler provides clean water to drink but still there are chances of growing germs and bacteria around water cooler due to moist and warm. These bacteria can cause infection and illness so the water cooler cleaning is necessary to prevent infection and other bacterial diseases.

For water cooler cleaning, one will need some specific equipment in his/her house. One should move ahead with the process of cleaning water cooler slowly, to clean it properly. The equipments and appliances, which are used for water cooler cleaning, should be of higher quality otherwise damage could occur to a water cooler. The equipments and other household items required for water cooler cleaning are bleach, a sponge or scrubbing brush, buckets, rubber gloves, detergent, towel and lint-free papers to clean the cooler.

To start the process of water cooler cleaning, prepare a bleach solution that will make the cooler disinfectant and will remove germs and bacteria formed in water cooler. Mix up one tablespoon of bleach in about one gallon of water, which is more than strong enough. Excessive concentrated solution of bleach could be corrosive and can ruin the water cooler, and it will be very difficult to wash out. Before cleaning water cooler, make sure that it is unplugged. Cleaning water cooler without unplugging can create disaster for someone. Remove the water bottle and drain all the liquids from cooler's reservoir before beginning to clean.

Fill the internal reservoir of cooler with the bleach solution and leave it for two or three minutes. This solution makes the cooler free from any kind of infection. One can take a sponge or scrub brush for cleaning the scum and dirt which usually buildup on the walls of water cooler. Other removable parts of water cooler should be clean by using bleach solution or with a mild detergent. After completing the cleaning of water cooler, rinse it properly with water. The water cooler should clean up to four times to prevent the chances of receiving the taste of bleach in drinking water. After doing this, simply dry down the cooler and then attach all the parts again to the water cooler properly. When the cleaning of water cooler including all to its part is completed, the water cooler is ready to supply fresh and cool water again.

Cleaning is appendage of maintaining the quality of drinking water to keep it fresh and cold. To keep the water supply fresh and clean for a long time, it is necessary to do water cooler cleaning regularly, after every few months. If one does not clean the water cooler routinely then this source of water supply would be converted into a source of bacterial and dirty water. Therefore, it is suggested to keep the water cooler clean before the formation of germs and pollution inside the cabinet.
